Angels Landing
The Angels Landing hike in Zion National Park is one of the park’s most iconic and thrilling experiences, known for its dramatic scenery and challenging final ascent. The trail begins in the main canyon and steadily climbs through a series of switchbacks carved into steep red rock cliffs, eventually reaching Scout Lookout with sweeping views of Zion Canyon. From there, the route narrows significantly as it follows a rugged spine of sandstone with steep drop-offs on either side, leading to the summit of Angels Landing. Along the way, hikers are rewarded with panoramic vistas of towering canyon walls, the winding Virgin River below, and the vast expanse of Zion’s desert landscape. Due to its exposure and difficulty, the hike requires focus and care, but it delivers one of the most unforgettable viewpoints in the park, making it a bucket-list adventure for many visitors.
